Fishing 5/23

I fished the Pines on Saturday evening. The river was packed with fisherman, both upstream and down. This was the first time this year I saw rising fish anywhere. The problem was that whatever these fish wanted I didn't have with me. There was a lot of bugs in the air, primarily mahogany duns. Anyway I hope everyone had better luck than I did this weekend

  1. It was crowded upstream from the Deep Pond access point on Saturday morning - mostly bait and spincasters. The rises were very sparse, but I took three rainbows and a brown from the deeper pools on woolly buggers (black and cinnamon) and a green hornberg. Only spotted a few caddis and mayflies in the air. Another fisherman nearby could get no interest in any of his dry flies.
